Weaving Week in Truro

Registration through Truro Center for the Arts.

This workshop is designed to give students a thorough and intensive grounding in hand weaving on a rigid heddle loom. Students will learn foundational weaving skills such as direct warping, loom set up, and basic weaving techniques and patterns, some of which will include tapestry, clasp, log cabin, weaving with repurposed fabric strips, and other techniques based on the groups interest.  The aim of this class is to learn to make decisions which will lead to success and encourage developing your own distinctive voice as a weaver. All materials will be provided, and no experience is necessary.  Throughout the week, we will design and create projects such as infinity scarves, tapestries, and  tote bags.
