About the Event

This workshop is designed to give students a thorough and intensive grounding in direct warping and hand weaving on a rigid heddle loom. Learn to warp and dress a rigid heddle loom through direct warping. We will explore choosing type and composition of warp yarns, calculating yarn requirements for projects, sett analyses, and fabric finishing techniques. You will make a warp which will be of your own design, weave it off and remove from the loom by the end of the class. No experience is necessary. You will have the option of taking home a new Schacht 15” Cricket loom ($240.00), that is fully assembled, at the end of the class.

This is a 2 day workshop. Hours- 10-5, both days.

Only the finest designer yarns are used for weaving during the class.  All yarns are natural fiber, and many are limited edition yarns from all corners of the world. Cotton, silk, rayon, bamboo, ribbons, chenille, boucles, all of varying thicknesses and colors will be available. Your class fee includes use of a portable rigid heddle loom ready for weaving as well as an extensive variety of natural fibers to choose.
